It's difficult to capture animals in their natural environment when their defense mechanism is to blend in with their environment. Considering the challenge, I think you did very well on the second shot. Cheers, Brent

looks like natural causes, but i'm no expert on shrew, it might be asleep of course... think the second shot is the better but like the first as it places everything in context...

Especially the second picture is very intense, because you only focused on the animal without the green or pieces of wood around. Great and sad shot!
